This is the 4 3/4” to 5 1/4” variation of this popular Hummel figurine and the mark indicates it was made in 1959. The tip of her pig tail is light colored, but not rough to the touch, so I assume this is the way it came from the factory and not a flaw.
Hummels have had some problems with crazing; to the point I have heard some are re-fired, and this Goose Girl is unfortunately one of them. It’s not obvious, and I didn’t see it until I looked closely.
The very white areas of the goose necks and bellies is crazed. It also shows on the bottom of the base and around the sides of the base. There is no sign of it on her face.
